Apps to Save You Money

If saving money is one of your New Years resolutions, here are some easy ways to help you stick to your resolution. I know, living a clean and non-toxic lifestyle can be very expensive, I think that is a big hold up for a lot of people. Besides keeping an eye out for sales, there are several apps and websites that you can use to get cash back on your purchases. Using these apps can make this lifestyle a little more affordable! Here are my favorites:

My personal favorite is Raktuen, formerly known as Ebates. You just open their app or go to their website; select the website you wish to buy from and order through that website. The cash back varies from site to site, but I have gotten as much as 20% cash back on purchases. I got $95 cash back on a year supply of contacts that I ordered! To date, I’ve made over $1,000 cash back in 4 years! They even show you current coupons for that website, so you can save even more money! Use my link to get $20 cash back on your first order through their site.

Another favorite of mine is Ibotta. You can use Ibotta just like Rakuten and shop through their app. Or you can snap a picture of your in-store receipt and the bar code of certain items to earn cash back for that item. I use this when I go grocery shopping. It is a bit more tedious than Rakuten in that you have to check the app before you go shopping. Then buy the specific item on the app, take a picture of the receipt and sometimes the bar code. They do have ‘any item’ options where you can earn cash back on any brand of certain items. Such as any brand cheese or any brand avocados, etc. If you are up for a little extra work, it is worth it! Here’s my link.

I have been using Drop for about two years and so far I have earned $150 in cash back! This one recently changed, so it is now more like Rakuten, but with some different perks. You link your credit card to your account and when you make purchases at certain places, they give you cash back in points. One thousand points equals $1in cash. For most of the places you must shop through a certain link. Although, currently you can get cash back from Amazon and Postmates by just linking your card. They also have a survey and game option where you can earn points for taking surveys or playing games on your phone! I earned $15 in points for booking my VRBO rental through the app. There are currently offers where you can earn $85 in points for signing up for a travel credit card. Or you could earn $75 in points for ordering high quality dog food through a certain website. If you are looking to refinance your student loans, you can currently get $140-$150 cash back for using a site through the app. You can also sign up for a food delivery service like Blue Apron and get $30 in points. Your points can then be traded in for gift cards at lots of different places. Check it out here.

There are several other apps I have tried, including survey apps, but these are the ones I have stuck with. They are easy to use and it doesn’t take too long for the money to add up. If you have any other apps that you would recommend, let me know!
