The Best Homemade Vanilla Mocha- Dairy & Refined Sugar Free

Sharing is caring!

It can be hard to make a homemade mocha taste as good as what you get at a coffee shop. This mocha is better than most coffee shop mochas, in my opinion (especially Starbucks)! When I first started making coffee, the coffee stand that I worked at used chocolate milk in their mochas, it was SO good. Then, when I started working at The Green Beanery coffee stand in Kirkland, Washington I was introduced to Wax Orchards Oh, Fudge sauce. That changed my mind about the chocolate milk mochas. Keep reading to find out what makes Oh, Fudge so unique.

Wax Orchards Oh, Fudge Sauce

The Oh, Fudge sauce is the key ingredient in this delicious homemade mocha. Oh, Fudge is sweetened with pineapple and pear concentrate, making it a much healthier option than what you get at most coffee shops. Not only is it healthier, but I think it’s better, it’s fudgier. Oh, Fudge sauce has only four ingredients- pineapple concentrate, pear concentrate, cocoa powder and vanilla. That’s it- no dairy, no added sugar and no preservatives. This fudgy chocolate sauce can also be used on ice cream, in milkshakes, yogurt, fruit, etc.

Clean Coffee

I have been searching for the best organic and clean coffees and I have a blog post about my two favorites so far. Check it out here. If these brands don’t interest you, I highly recommend you buy organic coffee at the very least. Coffee is one of the most heavily sprayed crops (with chemical pesticides, fertilizers, etc.) in the world. Some of the residue from these chemicals is burned off during the roasting process, but not all. Even if all the residue was burned off, all those chemicals are still going into the soil and water and affecting the local wildlife. To top it off, the U.S. doesn’t have any set limits for pesticide residue on coffee beans. Yuck! If you see the importance of buying organic produce, you should be buying organic coffee as well. Espresso Machine

I’m sure you all have a coffee machine at home, but I have to tell you about my favorite. We try to avoid coffee makers that have plastic that touches the hot water/coffee, in order to avoid plastic leaching into the water or coffee. Hands down my favorite espresso machine is the Breville Barista Express. I have had mine for over 6 years and I use it every day! From a former barista with over 10 years experience, I can say- this machine is worth the investment and you don’t have to be a barista to use it.
